The Connections Program

CONNECTIONS is an optional after-school support program for international students at Richmond public secondary schools.  The program is designed to improve English skills required for social studies and science and to encourage important social connections to other students and the community.

The Connections program includes:

  • Academic Tutoring – Skills development for all ELL levels with a focus on social studies, science, and Canadian culture.
  • Peer Session – Covers strategies for academic success from successful international students, with opportunities for individual questions such as school culture, evaluations and assessments, clubs/events in schools, work habits, homework and other useful topics.
  • Field Trips and Social Activities – Games and team projects to develop English in a fun, interactive environment. Field trips are also organized to enrich the learning experience and encourage social connections to other students and the community.
